Artist Statement
My practice is an exploration of memory, identity, and transformation. I am drawn to materials that are overlooked or everyday using them to construct forms that hold traces of personal and collective histories. The fragility and impermanence of these materials mirrors the transient nature of memory, adolescence, and the struggles we face, including themes of addiction and resilience.
I investigate how moments from the past inform our present understanding of identity and belonging. Projects inspired by exhibitions at the Irish Museum of Modern Art have allowed me to respond to broader historical and cultural narratives, creating works that reflect on loss, care, and the negotiation of personal and social histories.
Process and experimentation are central to my practice. By engaging with materials in unexpected ways, I aim to provoke reflection, evoke emotional resonance, and encourage viewers to consider the delicate intersections between experience, memory, and social context. My work is less about presenting answers and more about opening spaces for dialogue, questioning, and contemplation.
