About Me
My name is Holly Jensen, I am a final-year undergraduate student undertaking a BA Joint Honours in Fine Art & Education at the National College of Art & Design, Dublin. My studio practice is grounded in experimentation, with a focus on cost-effective, sustainable, and recyclable materials. I frequently work with unconventional processes such as casting using cling film and sellotape, alongside mixed media approaches including papier-mâché.
My studio practice is research-led and explores themes of nostalgia, women’s history, and social memory. Recent work has been developed in response to exhibitions at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, where I created a project that reflects on moments of social and cultural history, engaging with themes of care, loss, and collective remembrance.
Alongside my Artistic practice, I am also a committed educator, and have just completed my fourth teaching placement in a secondary school setting. I have gained experience across a wide range of educational settings, including DEIS primary schools, children’s summer camps, Montessori play camps, and post-primary schools such as DEIS, comprehensive, and ETB schools across Dublin’s northside. These experiences continue to inform my dual practice as an artist and educator, shaping my interest in education, history, and socially engaged learning.
Alongside visual art, I have a passion for music and sport and enjoy actively engaging in all aspects of school life, particularly extracurricular activities. I have completed Grade 8 Piano with the Royal Irish Academy of Music and value the importance of creative and physical disciplines in supporting students’ well being and personal growth.
